Founded
in 1983 by James Antrim, Antex Electronics is a leading designer and
manufacturer of professional digital sound cards, satellite
receiving systems, and audio client/servers for retail and
commercial applications. Antex is based in Gardena, Calif.
Antrim, with a background developing solid-sate relays and
protective sensors for industrial and aerospace applications,
focused the new company’s attention to new digital technologies. The
results included some of the first digital audio products for use in
personal computers, as well as for next-generation Internet
appliances.
In 1986, Antex introduced digital audio cards that were among the
world’s first to achieve CD-quality sound for personal computers.
The audio cards were followed by a line of leading edge DSP based,
high-end digital audio solutions for broadcast and other
professional uses.
Antex has built a solid reputation for providing integrated digital
media solutions for the broadcast communications and entertainment
industries, and its products are in use by such industry leaders as
Microsoft, DMX-Music, NCR, Pinnacle Systems and Intergraph. The
company is also well known as a supplier of customized technical
solutions that meet customers’ specific, and often unique, needs.
Its OEM client list includes Muzak, NCR, Lockheed/Martin, Honeywell,
Bloomberg Financial, Tektronix and DMX-Music.
Antex is one of the only digital audio card makers in the world
whose products are 100% designed and built in the USA. The company’s
commitment to quality is uncompromising. In 1997 Antex gained
ISO-9001 certification through the National Standards Authority of
Ireland, a standard held in high regard in the international
